Delete your account
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This page applies to the iFire, iCrew and iRescue mobile applications, all provided by Graham Murt, trading as iOnCall. The deletion process is the same across all three apps.
You can delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Two routes are available — pick whichever suits you.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and is available to anyone who can still sign in.
- Open the app on your phone.
- Tap the menu (top-left) and choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2 — Email request
If you have lost access to the app (lost device, uninstalled, no working email login), email us and we will action the deletion manually.
- Email hello@ifireapp.org from the email address associated with your account.
- Include your full name and the app you use (iFire, iCrew or iRescue).
- We will confirm by reply within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
When you delete your account we remove, straight away and from every station you belong to:
- Your profile: name, nickname, email address, mobile number and settings
- Your profile photo
- Your membership of every station, with your rank, qualifications and crew number
- Your availability plan, status history and hours
- Your responding history, and any location you shared while responding
- Your geofence settings, status check settings, crew you follow and your event replies
- Your registered devices and push-notification (FCM/APNs) tokens
- Your sign-in records: verification codes, and your dashboard password and sessions
- Emails we have sent you, and any pending station invites to your email address
What your station keeps, without your name
Some records belong to the station as well as to you, so we keep them but remove who you were:
- Chat and callout messages you sent stay in the station's history, shown as from a "Former member".
- Callouts you stood down, events you created, hydrants or defibrillators you added, and changes you made as a station admin (such as crewing rules or duty patterns) stay, with your identity removed.
These records are linked to a random identifier that cannot be traced back to you.
What is retained, and for how long
To meet our legal, accounting and operational obligations we retain a small amount of information after your account is deleted:
- Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) are kept only briefly, for security and abuse monitoring. Older logs are overwritten automatically as new ones are written.
- Subscription and payment records issued through Apple or Google, and your station's billing records, are kept as long as tax and consumer-protection law requires (typically 6 years in the UK). They identify you only by the platform's receipt id.
- Anonymised aggregate usage statistics are kept indefinitely. They contain no personal data and cannot be linked back to you.
If you have a specific question about what is retained for your account, email us at the address above and we will tell you exactly what we still hold.
Effect on station data
Deleting your account does not delete your colleagues' data or your station's own records. Their screens update straight away to show you have left.
